- Abstract
This document highlights humanitrian response arising after 2013 Tropical Cyclone 3A struck Somalia. The Global Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Cluster cited the need for safe drinking water in some of the remote villages where the storm had destroyed all sources of potable water.

The WASH partners have so far distributed some 6,600 non-food items comprising jerry cans, aqua tabs and soap for hygiene promotion in the affected areas. In addition 1,000 non-food items from UNHCR were delivered in Dangoroyo and Ely districts and distributed in Ceel Madobe, Laaso Xajin, Halo Keen, Budunbuto, Qarxis and Baarweyn villages. The items included: 1,000 plastic sheets, 1,000 kitchen sets; 3,000 blankets, 3,000 sleeping mats; 3,000 jerry cans and 30,000 bars of soap.
