This is a 1990 land use land cover (lulc) product for Shambe National Park - South Sudan (WDPA ID: 1372) which is part of a 3 epoch time series LULC classification produced by the Natural Habitat Conservation (NHC) unit of the MESA-IGAD thema (http://mesa.icpac.net/). Landsat TM (1990) image was used. JRC ImpactToolbox was used for image pre-processing, classification and validation. The extent of the product includes a 25km buffer from the boundary of the Protected Area(PA). For validation, the MESA-IGAD team in collaboration with respective National Focal Points from the member countries carried out field data collection exercise that yielded GPS location of representative classes, photographs of the classes and description of the vegetation cover.
